Description

This template is an experiment that grew out of earlier Paragami designs.
It combines elements from Coral Sponge, Cracked Bulge, and Whirl Ball into a single piece, trying to find a balance between structure, flow, and printability.

The final size is 500 × 500 mm, built from 130 blocks.

Based on feedback from the original Coral Sponge template, the walls in this version are noticeably thicker, which should make the parts easier to print and less fragile during assembly. I also changed the top elliptical curves — instead of keeping them flat, they are curved. This was a conscious decision after some hesitation, but the curved surface felt calmer and more natural once assembled.

As with all Paragami templates, the files are exported with flexibility in mind:

  • Numbered or unnumbered base

  • Complete model or split by colour

  • Individual blocks for custom workflows

3D geometry is exported in DWG, STP, and STL formats.

THIS IS A 3D MODEL EXPORT

Slicing settings depend on the model, especially its blocks/pyramids. For steep pyramids with gradual angles, increase perimeters or maintain shell thickness. Rotate blocks and enable supports. Settings vary by printer condition. For post-processing, use higher layers for faster printing and cover notches with colored spray.
To get started, we recommend this PRINTING SETTINGS:
• Layer height: 0,2 - 0,3 mm
• Perimeters: 2-3
• Infill: 5% (Rectilinear)
• Bottom Solid Layers: 2
• Top Solid Layers: 3
• Additional Setting: Use extra perimeters if needed, ensure minimum shell thickness, and detect thin walls (test as results vary by printer and slicer). Print external perimeters first. Adjust extrusion width to modify perimeter count in thin walls.
